Gibson (Kilboy)
|
In 1783 John Lewis Gibson was appointed organist at Cloyne Cathedral in county Cork. His family lived at Kilboy near Cloyne in the first half of the 19th century. It would appear that this family only owned a small amount of land about 35 acres in the parish of Cloyne although a John Gibson also owned land in the parish of Aghadown, parish of Skibbereen, barony of West Carbery (East Division) in the early 1850s. In 1866 Honorine Gibson marrried Major Travers Robert Blackley of Belfast.
