Name Description
Hewitt (County Cork) A family established at Clancoole, Bandon, county Cork, from the late 17th century. Thomas Hewitt was among the principal lessors in the parishes of Liscleary, barony of Kerrycurrihy and Ballymodan, barony of Kinalmeaky, at the time of Griffith's Valuation. In the 1870s he was the owner of over 1500 acres in county Cork. In the mid 19th century Thomas H. Hewitt held land in the parish of Ballclogh, barony of Orrery and Kilmore and in the parish of Carrigtohill, barony of Barrymore. 58 acres at Inch, barony of Imokilly, the estate of Thomas Henry Hewitt was advertised for sale in July 1880.
