Morgan's Charities

When Richard Morgan [of Dublin] died in 1784 he bequeathed his estate to a number of trustees, including the Archbishop of Armagh and the Lord Chancellor, as an endowment for the founding of schools. At the time of Griffith's Valuation Morgan's Charities held two townlands in the parish of Rathkeale, barony of Connello Lower, county Limerick. In the 1870s the Trustees of Morgans Charities, owned 259 acres in county Limerick. Charles Hamilton of 53 Lower Dominick St, [Limerick], was the agent.
