Name Description
Swanzy (Co Cork) The Reverend Henry Swanzy was the eldest son of Henry Swanzy of Rockfield, county Monaghan. He was curate of Youghal in 1835 when he married Elizabeth Green of Nelson's Hill, Youghal. He was later appointed Canon of Subulter and rector of Kilshannig, county Cork. His eldest son the Reverend Henry Swanzy, rector of Castlemagner, county Cork, was a pioneering explorer in Canada with his cousin William Spotswood Green. In the 1870s the Reverend Henry Swanzy of Newberry owned 685 acres in county Cork.
