At the time of Griffith's Valuation Sir John Sheppey Ribton 3rd Baronet owned an estate in the parish of Tuogh, barony of Owneybeg, county Limerick. He acquired this estate through his first marriage to Mary Anne Hayes of Killuragh, only daughter and heiress of Jeremiah Hayes. They had one son who predeceased his father. Sir John had a further two sons from his second marriage. Sir John Ribton of Woodbrook, Bray, county Dublin, owned 1,146 acres in county Limerick and 77 acres in county Dublin in the 1870s.
