O'Grady/Grady (Belmont)

Thomas William Grady of Belmont, Castleconnell, county Limerick, was clerk of the peace at the end of the 1810s and filed a case against Wyndham Quin in the House of Commons in 1819 following his dismissal from this post. He would appear to be a son of Thomas Grady, barrister and satirical poet. At the time of Griffith's Valuation he held land in the parishes of Uregare, barony of Coshma and Kilbreedy Major, barony of Coshlea. Lands at Tullyleak, barony of Coshlea, the estate of Thomas William Grady were advertised for sale in March 1868 and an estate of 356 acres at Ballyanna, barony of Coshma and 358 acres at Kilmurry, barony of Coshlea plus a few acres in the barony of Kilmallock was advertised for sale in July 1881 by Edward Maunsell "administrator and late committee of Thomas William Grady, late a lunatic, deceased". The lease of Ballyanna dated from 1778 James Kearney to William Grady. The ''Limerick General Advertiser'' of 22 May 1834 records the marriage of Thomas Grady of Belmont and Julia daughter of George Maunsell of Woodstone, county Dublin.
