Cave | Thomas S. Cave was among the principal lessors in the parish of Skull at the time of Griffith's Valuation. In 1867 over 3000 acres of his estate, together with mining and mineral rights, were offered for sale in the Landed Estates Court. The sale notice indicates that he had purchased this property in 1852. It was formerly part of the estate of Lord Audley. His wife placed a bid of £15,000 which was accepted pending a period of three months to allow for the receipt of any higher bid |
