Name	Description
Finucane (Ballynacraggy)	This family was associated with the Ennis locality in county Clare from the late 17th century. Daniel Finucane of Ennis and Carrowreagh, parish of Kilfiddane, barony of Clonderalaw, married Helen O’Shaughnessy from Gort, county Galway. Their grandson James Finucane was in possession of the lands of Ballynacraggy, parish of Kilnasoolagh, barony of Bunratty Lower, by the mid 18th century and his son John, a Dublin attorney, married in 1774 Elizabeth O’Brien, who brought with her a fortune of £21,000. Members of this family appear to have been mainly resident on the Continent. In 1800 James Finucane, son of John and Elizabeth married his cousin Jane Finucane of Lifford House, Ennis, and they had a large family, one son and nine daughters. One daughter, Louisa, was married in 1854 to Lucius 13th Baron Inchiquin. Their son Michael died without marrying and the estate appears to have been divided between some of his sisters. At the time of Griffith’s Valuation the representatives of Michael Finucane owned an estate mainly in the barony of Corcomroe, parishes of Clooney and Kilmanaheen. Their estate also included land in the parishes of Clondagad and Killone, barony of Islands and Kilnasoolagh, barony of Bunratty Lower. In the 1870s Michael's sisters Anastasia Finucane of Onslow Gardens, London, Fanny Woodward and Alicia de Haye of Versailles owned 1,972, 855 acres and 618 acres respectively in the county.
Finucane (Lifford)	Andrew Finucane born 1680 was the third son of Daniel Finucane and Helena O'Shaughnessy of Ballynacraggy, county Clare. Mott writes that the Honourable Mathias Finucane, Justice of the Court of Common Pleas, was the son of this Andrew. Mathias Finucane (1738-1814) married Ann daughter of Edward O'Brien of Ennistymon House. They were divorced in 1793 and she married his cousin Captain Donat Finucane. Ennistymon House eventually passed to the descendants Mathias and Ann Finucane's daughter Susanna who had married William Nugent Macnamara of Doolin. Susanna's had a brother Andrew who did not marry. Their other sister Jane married in 1800 her cousin James Finucane of the Ballynacraggy family.
Finucane (Stamer Park)	At the beginning of the 19th century Daniel Finucane was residing at Stamer Park, Ennis, county Clare. Weir writes that he married Catherine Daxon in 1792. His daughter Bridget married John James Cullen of Skreeny, county Leitrim in 1810. Diana Finucane daughter of Daniel Finucane of Stamer Park married Andrew Stacpoole of Lifford, Ennis, in 1827. Daniel Finucane's son Michael was the proprietor of Stamer Park in 1837 and married Lucinda daughter of Pierce Carrick of Ennis. They had six children. At the time of Griffith’s Valuation their eldest son Daniel Carrick Finucane held land in the parishes of Kilmaley and Drumcliff, barony of Islands and Dysert, Kilnamona and Inagh, barony of Inchiquin. Daniel C. Finucane died unmarried in 1866 and his younger brother Pierce Finucane of Larch Hill, Ennis, owned 2,333 acres in county Clare in the 1870s.
