Name Description
Busteed Mrs. Mary and Isabella Busteed, with a Dublin address, owned over 1600 and 700 acres respectively, in county Kerry in the 1870s. At the time of Griffith's Valuation, John Busteed was a principal lessor in the parishes of Ratass and Ballyseedy barony of Trughanacmy. In 1863, Several thousand acres in the barony of Trughanacmy, the property of Robert Fitzgerald Meredith, were offered for sale in the Landed Estates Court. At least some of this was land purchased earlier in the Encumbered Estates Court. John Busteed was the tenant of over 800 acres at the time of the sale. In the 1830s, the Ordnance Survey Field Name Books mention Busteed as leasing townlands from the Blennerhassett estate. Leasehold interests of several properties in the town of Tralee, which had been in the possession of John Busteed, were offered for sale in the Encumbered Estates Court in April 1856.
