Mayberry

Estate(s)

Name Description
Mayberry/Maybury Historians of the Mayberry family believe their ancestor was recruited by Sir William Petty or his agents to work on his county Kerry estate, thus establishing a Kerry branch of the family. Both John and James Mayberry were principal lessors in the parish of Tuosist, barony of Dunkerron South at the time of Grffith's Valuation. George Mayberry, MD, was the owner of over 3000 acres in Kerry in the 1870s. He was one of the principal lessors in the parish of Kenmare at the time of Griffith's Valuation. In 1859, property in Cork and Killarney, in which members of the Maybury family held an interest, was offered for sale in the Landed Estates Court.
