Name Description
Lees The Lees family, Barons Blackrock, owned lands in the barony of Carrigallen, county Leitrim, in the nineteenth century. In 1870 Harcourt Lees and other members of his family offered almost 500 acrs at Clooncose, barony of Carrigallen for sale in the Landed Estate's Court. The sale on 1 July in that year was adjourned. Sir John Lees had been the lessor of this land at the time of Griffith's Valuation. He is recorded as owning almost 500 acres in county Leitrim in the 1870s when he resided at Beechlands, Isle of Wight. 340 acres of the same estate was offered for sale again by Harcourt Lees in November 1874. The Irish Times reported that it was sold to a Mr.Kiernan for over £2600.
