In the mid 19th century Anthony Donnellan, possibly a member of the Donnellans of Calla and Nutgrove, county Tipperary, owned an estate in the parish and barony of Moycullen, county Galway. The estate was advertised for sale in November 1867 by Edmond Joseph Donelan at the petition of William Michael Donelan. The Irish Times reports that one lot was sold to Thomas Higgins for over £1000 while the second lot was not sold.
