Knox (Prospect)

The representative of Vicesimus Knox are recorded as holding Prospect in 1855, which they were leasing to William Mulville. The Knox estate held other property in the area including a mill in the townland of Lavally leased to John Mangan in 1855. Earlier in the 19th century it appears to have been occupied by the Nolan family. This estate also held lands in the parish of Kiltartan. Lane contends that Lord Gough of Lough Cutra purchased much of the Knox estate in 1857.
