Horkan/Harkan
From the mid 19th century the Horkans held a small estate in fee simple from the Ruttledge family of Bloomfield in the parish of Meelick, barony of Gallen, county Mayo, which they advertised for sale in the Land Court in 1885. In 1814 John Horkan was living at Derrygaury, parish of Ballynahaglish, barony of Tirawley.
