Blackall
Major Robert Blackall, of Coolamber, Lisryan, county Longford was recorded as owning over 1800 acres in county Leitrim in the 1870s as well as over 4600 acres in County Longford. The Blackall estate was among the principal lessors in the parishes of Granard, Mostrim and Street, barony of Ardagh, at the time of Griffiths Valuation in the early 1850s. In 1874 he advertised over 1800 acres in the barony of Mohill, County Leitrim, for sale in the Landed Estates Court. The Irish Times reported that 450 acres was sold in trust. He was a grandson of a Robert Blackall who was ''of Coolamber'' in the late 18th century and son of Samuel Wensley Blackall, a colonial civil servant, who died Governor of Queensland in 1871. http://www.adb.online.anu.edu.au/biogs/A030164b.htm
