Jenings (Fountainhill)
The Jenings family were established at Fountainhill in the parish of Kilmainebeg, county Mayo, from at least the mid 18th century. A number of them are buried in Cong Abbey and in 1769 Ulick Jenings married Catherine, daughter of George McNamara of Cong. The estate of 251 acres including a corn mill and good dwelling house was advertised for sale in the Encumbered Estates' Court in April 1852. The Freeman's Journal reported the purchase of some of the property by Edward O'Donnell. At the time of Griffith's Valuation the property was owned by Patrick Blake.
