Algeo
The Algoe family occupied an estate in this part of Leitrim through much of the 19th century. As well as Glenboy they appear to have had another house at Hollymount where Robert Algeo is recorded in Leet's ''Directory of Ireland'' in 1814. McParlan includes Lewis Algro [sic] on a list of "resident gentleman of property" in 1802. In the 1870s Lewis Algeo owned 642 acres in county Leitrim and in 1901 Lewis Algeo, aged 88, was resident at Glenboy with a housekeeper and another servant.
