Hicks Beach
Records in the Gloucestershire Archives indicate that the Hicks Beach family held land in the Irish counties of Kerry, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Westmeath and Kildare, in the 19th century. Sir Michael Edward Hicks Beach, 9th Baronet and 1st Earl St Aldwyn (1837 to 1916) was Chief Secretary for Ireland from 1874 to 1878 and 1886 to 1887.
