Tisdall (Redmondstown)
The Tisdalls held townlands in the parish of Churchtown, county Westmeath, at the time of Griffith's Valuation (publ. 1854), although some townlands were in Chancery. Jerome Tisdall of Redmondstown was a grandson of Sir Jeremiah FitzPatrick MD (1740-1810). Sir Jeremiah was born in Kilbeggan, county Westmeath and in 1808 he was granted an annuity on some Tisdall lands when his daughter married John Tisdall. Their son, Jerome Tisdall, married Frances Catherine Ferguson and they had a son Charles Jerome Tisdall. Jerome Tisdall was a nephew of Colonel Thomas Tisdall of Charleville, Dunleer, county Louth. Mrs E Tisdall of Rathcore, Dunleer owned 133 acres in county Westmeath in the 1870s.
