Johnston (Rathgarve)
Captain James Johnston was the immediate lessor of Ballycomoyle, 465 acres in the parish of Rathgarve, county Westmeath, at the time of Griffith’s Valuation (publ. 1854). The estate of his representatives amounted to 753 acres in the mid-1870s.
