Carey (Westmeath)
Griffith’s Valuation for county Westmeath (publ. 1854) records Henry Carey’s estate in the parish of Faughalstown, comprised of the townlands of Faughalstown, Templanstown and Grangetown amounting to 1,316 acres held by his representatives in the mid-1870s. This may be Henry Carey of 10 Hatch Street, Dublin, barrister-at-law and Registrar of the Landed Estates Court who died in 1871, aged 61 (Irish Law Times, 1871, 560).
