Montgomery (Kilmer)
Alexander Montgomery was an immediate lessor in the parish of Killucan, county Westmeath, at the time of Griffith’s Valuation (publ. 1854). He was the son of Alexander Shirley Montgomery who Burke’s Landed Gentry records succeeded his cousin Colonel Allen at Kilmer, county Meath. Alexander Montgomery married Frances Tisdall of Charlesfort, county Meath and died in 1863. His son Alexander Shirley Montgomery of Kilmer owned 2,179 acres in county Westmeath and 2,199 acres in county Meath in the mid-1870s.
