Molloy (Clonbela)
The Molloy family were established at Streamstown and Clonbela, King’s County (Offaly) from the 17th century. Daniel Molloy of Clonbela was the immediate lessor of the 1,421 townland of Enniscoffey, county Westmeath at the time of Griffith’s Valuation (publ. 1854). This townland came into the family’s possession though marriage with a Bomford. Daniel died in 1856 and was succeeded by his son Laurence Bomford Molloy of Clonbelamore, Parsonstown, who owned 1,421 acres in county Westmeath and 1,061 acres in King’s County in the mid-1870s. Daniel’s younger brother Thomas succeeded in 1849 to the estates of his uncle Thomas Homan Mulock. see http://www.bomford.net/IrishBomfords/Chapters/Chapter10/Chapter10.htm
