Hornidge (Calverstown)

George Hornidge of Dublin married Mary Bickerstaff and died in 1772. His son John Hornidge lived at Calverstown, county Westmeath and married Elizabeth daughter of James Hornidge of King’s County (Offaly). In 1838 their son George James Hornidge married Jane daughter of Robert Matthews of Killare House. At the time of Griffith’s Valuation (publ. 1854) George Hornage held a townland in the parish of Clonfad, county Westmeath. In the mid-1870s George James Hornidge of Calverstown, Mullingar owned 582 acres in the county while [his son] John Hornidge of Dalystown, owned 177 acres. John Hornidge married Frances Pilkington and died in 1902 and was succeeded by his son Dudley George Pilkington Hornidge, born 1881.
