Hamilton (Dublin)
Maxwell Hamilton (1801-1867), of Sackville Street and Merrion Square, Dublin, a Crown Solicitor, was an immediate lessor in the county Westmeath parish of Castletownkindalen at the time of Griffith’s Valuation (publ. 1854). In the mid-1870s his representatives owned 420 acres in the county and 214 acres in county Dublin. His parents Robert Hamilton and Sidney Archdale married in 1800. This family were a branch of the Hamiltons of Durrow and Mountrath, county Laois.
