Gamble (Washford)

Arthur Gamble of county Westmeath died in May 1772 according to Walker’s Hibernian Magazine. The marriage register of the parish of St George, Hanover Square, London, records the marriage on 3 December 1819 of Henry Boyd Gamble of St James, Westminster and Charlotte Sarah Freeman. At the time of Griffith’s Valuation (publ. 1854) Captain Henry Boyd Gamble held land in the parishes of Ballymorin and Killare, County Westmeath. [His son] Arthur Boyd Gambell of Washbrook, County Westmeath, married Alicia Fetherstonhaugh in 1860. In the mid-1870s his estate amounted to 609 acres in the county. He immigrated to the USA.
