Nugent (Clonlost)
The Nugents of Clonlost, County Westmeath were a junior branch of the Nugents of Donore. They were established at Clonlost in the 17th century. By the time of Griffith’s Valuation (publ. 1854) their estate was located in the parishes of Rathconnell, Killulagh and Killucan. Captain John James Nugent was the proprietor at this time. In the mid-1870s Lieut Col John J Nugent owned 3,140 acres in County Westmeath.
