Nugent (Donore)
The Nugents of Donore, Multifarnham, County Westmeath, descend from the Barons Delvin. James Nugent of Donore was created a baronet in 1768 and was succeeded by his brother Sir Percy but the baronetcy expired as both died childless. Their nephew Thomas Fitzgerald inherited the estate. His son Sir Percy assumed the name of Nugent and was created a baronet in 1831 and was a MP for County Westmeath. Griffith’s Valuation (publ. 1854) records his estate as located in the parishes of Multifarnham, Rathaspick and Street. His son Sir Walter owned 7,218 acres in the county and 737 acres in County Longford
