Evers (Kilbixy)

Joseph and Owen Evers were immediate lessors in the parish of Kilbixy, county Westmeath, at the time of Griffith’s Valuation (publ. 1854). Some of their land was held from Alicia O’Connor Malone. Branches of the family lived in three houses in the Ballynacargy district, Tristernagh Abbey, Willyfield and Grange Hall. The 1872 will of Joseph William Eivers of Willyfield in the National Archived mentions his cousin James of Tristernagh and his brother James Francis, see https://www.willcalendars.nationalarchives.ie/reels/cwa/005014890/005014890_00107.pdf. In the 1870s Eugene Eivers of Grange Hall, owned 107 acres, James Fallon Eivers of Willyfield owned 213 acres and James K Eivers of Tristernagh owned 105 acres in county Westmeath. James Fallon Eivers was bankrupt by 1888. Eugene Eivers immigrated to New Zealand. See also Irish Law Times Vol 22 (1888), 228.
