Marsh (Ballinaminton)
Major George Marsh (1765-1857) of Ballinaminton, county Offaly, held a townland in the parish of Ballyloughloe, county Westmeath at the time of Griffith’s Valuation, (publ. 1854). He was the son of Peter Marsh and Ellen Homan and his wife was Jane Ryves. In the 1870s their son the Rev Peter Marsh (1815-1882) of O’Meath, Newry, owned 904 acres in the county with further land holdings in counties Armagh, Galway and Offaly. The Marshs had family connections with the Fetherstonhaugh and Clibborn families.
