Rorke/O'Rorke (Westmeath)
In Griffith’s Valuation (publ. 1854) John O’Rorke held land in the parishes of Kilkenny West, Noughavel and Drumraney, county Westmeath. John Rorke appears to have been a solicitor of Upper Temple Street, Dublin and of Tyrrelstown, county Dublin. Lands belonging to John Rorke in counties Dublin, Meath, Kildare and Westmeath were for sale in the Landed Estates Court in January 1862. His second son John Rorke Junior lived at Johnstown House, Enfield, county Meath. Details of this family are recorded in The Irish Jurist, Vol 16 (1864), 409 and Walford (1860), 792.
