Tandy (Longford)
In the 1870s Mrs. Mary Tandy, with an address in Carlow, was recorded as the owner of over 700 acres in County Longford. At the time of Griffiths Valuation in the 1850s this estate, which was the subject of a case in the Court of Chancery, was among the principal lessors in the parish of Killoe, barony of Granard. The rental of an estate in the parish of Killoe, whose owner was Reverend Philip Smith, but with a charge of income for Mary Tandy, was offered for sale in the Encumbered Estates Court in February 1858. The sale also included over 100 acres in the parish Mostrim, barony of Ardagh.
