Shuldham (Longford)
In the 1870s, Hussey de Burgh recorded John Shuldham, with an address at Ballybrack, County Dublin, as the owner of over 2500 acres in County Longford. At the time of Griffiths Valuation in the early 1850s, the Shuldham estate was among the principal lessors in the parishes of Kilcommock, Rathcline and Shrule, baronies of Moydow and Rathcline. Burke states that the Shuldhams were originally a Norfolk family, members of which settled in Ireland at the end of the seventeenth century. The estate at Ballymulvey was acquired through a marriage with the Molyneaux family, originally of Ballymulvey.
