Swiney (Kilmacrenan)
In the 1870s John Hazlett Swiney of Rathmelton was recorded as the owner of over 500 acres in County Donegal. At the time of Griffiths Valuation he was leasing property at Moyagh, Parish of Tullyfern, barony of Kilmacrenan, from the Ecclesiastical Commissioners. His son, John Harris Hazlett Swiney, became a well-known architect with a practice in Belfast.
