Lane (Donegal)

Michael B. Lane, with an address in Londonderry, is recorded as the owner of over 5,500 acres in County Donegal in the 1870s. Lane was a solicitor in Londonderry. In 1872 the rental of over 5500 acres of Lane's estate in the barony of Inishowen was offered for sale in the Landed Estates Court. The tenure details suggest that this property was held under fee farm grants between the Marquis of Donegall's estate and members of the Alexander family.
