Foster (Londonderry)
In the mid nineteenth century William John Foster was High Sheriff of Donegal as well as a member of the Corporation of Londonderry. At the time of Griffiths Valuation he was leasing lands in the parishes of Gartan and Tullyfern, from the estates of Samuel Marshall and Sir. James Stewart. By the 1870s he owned over 2300 acres in County Donegal.
