Carson (Corrard)

In the mid-19th century Richard Carson held three townlands, amounting to about 350 acres, in the parish of Killdallan, county Cavan. In 1876, the representatives of Richard Carson owned 279 acres in the county. William Carson of Corrard was the eldest son of John Carson JP, died 1879, and his wife Isabella Moffitt. In 1879 William married Mary Elizabeth Nixon of Thornhill in the parish of Killinagh and they had a son and a daughter. William and his family were living at Corrard House in the early 20th century.
