At the time of Griffith’s Valuation in the 1850s John M’Elree held parts of the adjoining townlands of Coolcanadas, Mullalougher and Mullacroghery, parish of Annagh, county Cavan. These townlands were located to the south east of Belturbet and north of Ballyhaise.
