Leslie (Kincraigie)
This branch of the Leslie family were the lessors of property in the parish of Raymoghy, Barony of Raphoe North, at the time of Griffiths Valuation. Burke suggests that they were descended from the Leslie family of Kincraigie and Aberdeen in Scotland and that the Donegal family derive from Patrick Leslie who settled in Ireland in the late seventeenth century. The family are also associated with Ballyward, County Down, through the marriage of Jane Leslie with William Beers of Ballyward Lodge. In 1867 land and mill properties leased from the Leslie estate by George McDermot were offered for sale in the Landed Estates Court.
