Doherty (Derrylane)

In 1876, John Doherty of Derrylane, Bellananagh, county Cavan, owned 544 acres in the county. At the time of Griffith’s Valuation John and Robert Doherty held a house and 29 acres in Derrylane, parish of Ballintemple, from Henry Grattan. John Doherty also held part of Shancor, in the parish of Killashandra and property in Arvagh. 58 acres of Derrylane was purchased in trust for John Doherty in 1874 for £700 according to The Irish Law Times and Solicitors Journal.
