Lowry (Pomeroy)
The Lowry family of Pomeroy House, county Tyrone, are a junior branch of the Lowry family, Earls of Belmore. In the mid-19th century Robert William Lowry held land in the county Cavan parish of Drumlane. In 1878, his eldest son Robert W. Lowry of Pomeroy owned 8,158 acres in county Tyrone and his second son John Fetherstonhaugh Lowry of Belmore, Ballymore, county Westmeath, owned estates in counties Tyrone (2,929 acres), Westmeath (1,328 acres) and Cavan (378 acres).
