de Montmorency (Viscount Frankfort)

The de Montmorency family, Viscount Frankfort, was a junior branch of the Viscount Mountmorres family. Lodge Evans Morres (1747-1822), a distinguished politican, was created Baron Frankfort of Galmoyle in July 1800 following the Union and Viscount Frankfort de Montmorency in 1816. He married as his second wife Catherine White of Castle Bellingham and had a son Lodge Raymond, 2nd Viscount. The 2nd Viscount married Georgina Frederica, daughter of Peter FitzGibbon Henchy, QC. In 1878 the 2nd Viscount, with an address in Essex, owned 4,610 acres in county Kilkenny, 1,045 acres in county Cavan and 636 acres in county Carlow. His county Cavan property was in the parish of Killashandra.
