Wallace (Clones)

In the mid-19th century Robert Thomas Wallace held some land in the parish of Currin, barony of Dartrey, county Monaghan. The lands of Tullynample and Corragarry, amounting to 372 acres, were offered for sale in June 1874 by the trustees of Sir Robert Wallace and Robert Outram Wallace. Major General Sir Robert Wallace (1811-1890) was the son of Robert Thomas Wallace of Surrey. In 1843 he married Catherine Matilda Smith of Annesbrook, county Meath. Robert Outram Wallace was their son. In 1876, Sir Robert Wallace of London owned 170 acres in county Monaghan and Annabella Wallace of Cloverhill, Drum, Clones, owned 100 acres.
