Ronaldson (Currin)
At the time of Griffith's Valuation (circa 1860) the representatives of John Ronaldson held two townlands, Lattacrossan and Aghnaskew, parish of Currin, county Monaghan. The estate was in the Court of Chancery as John Ronaldson had become insolvent. In February 1862 the rental of Lattacrossan held under a lease (1759) from Henry Owen to Charles Crow was sold in the Landed Estates Court. An Irish Newspaper (21 Nov 1863) reporting on the case stated that John Ronaldson lived in Bailieborough, county Cavan. He made his will on 1 July 1824 but became insolvent some years later. http://www.irelandoldnews.com/Cavan/1863/NOV.html The court was to decide over the dispersal of proceeds from the sale of Lattacrossan among his heirs.
