Thomas
William Brodrick Thomas, born 1811, was the grandson of Lord Midleton. He was a well known garden designer of the mid to late 19th century, based in London and was employed by Queen Victoria and English and Irish estate owners such as the Duke of Abercorn and the Leslies at Glaslough. In June 1860, with Francis Barlow Robinson, a London solicitor, he owned an estate in the parishes of Clontibret (1,231 acres) and Drumsnat (664 acres) in county Monaghan, which was for offered for sale in the Landed Estates Court. Some of their estate was bought by the Lucas of Castleshane and Humphrys Jones (''Boston Pilot'', Volume 23, Number 29, 21 July 1860).
