Bond (Bondville)
Walford states that this family descend from Edward Bond who came to Ireland with 'the Prince of Orange'. In the mid-19th century, Captain Edward Wellington Bond of Bondville, county Armagh, held an estate in counties Armagh and Monaghan. He was the eldest son of Henry Coote Bond and his wife Eliza Stanley. From the end of the 18th century there was a long running court case Bond v Hopkins over the Bond estate. On 5 August 1851, the Bondville estate situated in the barony of Tureny, county Armagh, with over 550 acres of Cavancreevy and Coolartra in the parish of Clontibret, county Monaghan were for sale in the Encumbered Estates Court. In 1852 Bondville demesne and Coolartra were re-advertised. By 1878, the representatives of Wadham Wyndham Bond, a younger brother of Captain Edward, owned 334 acres in county Monaghan (Coolartra).
