Musgrave (Banagh)

In the 1870s John and James Musgrave, of Belfast and Carrick, County Donegal, owned over 23,000 acres in the county as well as some land in County Antrim. Family history sources suggest they descend from Dr. Samuel Musgrave, a general practitioner in Lisburn at the end of the eighteenth century. The family later had a very successful hardware and ironworks business in Belfast.
