In the mid-19th century David Kellett held a townland in the parish of Ballymachugh and the Reverend Orange Kellett held another in the parish of Killinkere, county Cavan. In 1876, the Reverend O. Kellett, Ballyconnell, owned 750 acres. Members of the Kellett family of Virginia, county Cavan, owned smaller acreages.
