Humphrey [Humphreys]
Benjamin G. Humphrey was among the principal lessors in the parish of Gartan, Barony of Kilmacrenan, County Donegal at the time of Griffiths Valuation in the 1850s. Hussey de Burgh notes a landowner of the same name, with an address at Strabane, who owned almost 600 acres in King’s County (Offaly) and 260 acres in County Louth in the 1870s. The Chief Tenants report of the same period notes the representatives of Christopher Humphreys owning over 400 acres in County Donegal. The same report notes the ownership by John Keys Humphrey of over 13,000 acres in the county.
