Ramsey (Raphoe)
At the time of Griffiths Valuation in the 1850s, Reverend William Ramsey was among the principal lessors in the parish of Stranorlar, barony of Raphoe South, County Donegal. In the 1870s Robert Ramsey of Lisnenan, Letterkenny, owned over 1000 acres in County Donegal. In 1874 property in Ballyraine, barony of Kilmacrenan, of which Robert Ramsey was a tenant was offered for sale in the Landed Estates Court. The estate was in the ownership of Thomas Bell and Edward Christopher Boyle.
